Delivery Driver
JOB SUMMARY:
To operate a light delivery/panel truck or similar vehicle to pick up and deliver pharmaceuticals, OTC’s, and other related pharmacy materials. To service customers in the local area.
TASKS:
- Load vehicle with packages scheduled for the day’s deliveries.
- Determines most efficient order of delivery and prepares schedule showing order to be followed.
- Consults with supervisor with any unusual problems.
- Delivers packages and gets receiving slips signed.
- Collect money from customers, make change, and record transactions on customer’s receipts.
- Uses cell phone to report on progress of deliveries.
- Picks up returns and items of use for the pharmacy.
- Maintains simple records of deliveries and vehicle mileage.
- Follows maintenance schedule for having vehicle serviced. Takes vehicle for service when instructed to do so. Reports any mechanical problems to supervisor.
- Assists in general pharmacy duties upon completing delivery route.
Ex: Stocking vials and bottles daily, taking out garbage, stocking adequate supply of laser and nursing home labels, RX pads, fax paper, etc.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs other related duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Understanding and abiding by all HIPAA laws and policies.
- Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to read directions and use a street map to plot delivery route.
- Ability to maintain simple logs and records.
- Dependable worker able to carry out a series of work instructions without constant supervision.
- Must be physically able to lift up to fifty pounds regularly in order to load and deliver goods, in addition to accept receivables.
